How to make the most out of your video content without a budget! 🎉

We work closely with many business owners who are seeking to get the best out of the videos they create with us. We find that where they struggle to make the most out of their online video content, are the simple tricks of the trade in the posting and distribution process. Let’s simplify that shall we? Here’s a few things to keep in mind after you’ve completed a video project.

Posting it at the right place, at the right time, in the right way.

Post on all social media platforms in the best suited format. E.g. Insta Reels - Vertical, YouTube - Wide, Website - Wide. Here are the main video dimensions for most social media platforms:

When is the best time to post? You can jump on your instagram ‘insights’ to see when is the best time to post and when users are most active - for us a film and video production company based in Melbourne, Australia, it’s 6pm and 9pm! In the insights, you can even check to see which posts are performing the best in order to plan and strategise for your future video campaigns and promotional content to suit your audience’s preferred content. Tag the sh*t out of your videos and get your friends and family to comment. You want as many people to share the videos you create and you want viewers to engage as much as possible in order to increase viewership. So tagging people both in the video and when you upload to instagram stories helps a lot! The algorithm not only favours videos but videos with a lot of comments, so get your team to chuck up some comments to help give your video that little extra boosting without spending a dollar.

Re-purpose Feel free to re-cut the video and re-use the video by re-posting it on an Instagram reel or turning it into a TikTok video. Most people only pay attention to the first 5 seconds before they decide to swipe next. You can take this opportunity to re-purpose your video and post it again using a different section of the clip at the start to create a new experience with the same branded content. If you’re feeling frisky, you can even try overlaying a different song on Instagram Reels or TikTok. There are many trending sounds that will give new ways for viewers to find you. Explore the apps more and start specialising the social media apps as marketing tools for your business.

We hope you found this blog post useful and are able to apply it to your own video projects on social media too. If you have any questions or want to know more, feel free to send us a message! We’d be more than happy to help you with all of your video and social media needs. Much love, Flying Art Studios.
